About Early Years

The Early Years Program began in 1986 with 1 classroom at Lafayette School, 2 teachers and a teacher's aide. There were 15 students the first year.

Today the program has grown to include 8 classrooms in our Early Years Center at 516 Jordan Street. We also have a classroom in the Murrayville-Woodson Elementary School building. In total, we have 9 teachers, 9 paraprofessionals, 3 Parent Educators, a Principal, a secretary, a nurse, and 2 custodians on staff to serve 240 students.

A Birth to 3 program staffed by 7 Parent Educators provides services for families with younger children. The Birth to 3 program currently serves about 100 families within the Jacksonville School District.

We have enjoyed serving the Jacksonville community for over 35 years and look forward to many more years of growth and learning!
